While we were in Berlin, I was walking home one day and saw a stand of books for sale just by the road, the only book that had any English was “Dante’s Purgatorio”. It had both the Italian and English side by side. I bought it and took it home and gave it to Ursula. That was the beginning of a long journey condensed down to deal only with Purgatorio, Canto 2.
